Our Vision
Lincolnshire Church–
Our vision represents both who we are and who we are
striving to become. We aren’t perfect, and we don’t claim to be. We do not
expect perfection from others.
We are all seeking, by God’s grace, to
become better people and better witnesses to God’s love.
There’s a place for you with a group of ordinary people who have discovered the joy of life and
fellowship in Jesus Christ! We are all the children of God, brothers and sisters
in Jesus Christ.
AT LINCOLNSHIRE WE:
• hold worship as a time for celebrating God’s grace
and goodness and providing preaching that is biblically-based and related to
everyday life.
•
praise God through blended worship styles, including
adult and children’s choirs, bell choir, a blend of traditional and contemporary
music, and occasional drama and video.
•
offer an enthusiastic Blue Jean Dinner program for children and youth, including many with no formal connection
to our church.
•
extend caring and support to one another through small
groups and the ministry of Caregivers, who relate to each church family and
single adult.
•
provide opportunities for spiritual growth through
church school for all ages, study and sharing groups, Bible study experiences,
and outreach projects.
•
experience fellowship and personal growth
through youth groups, the women’s fellowship, and a men’s group.
•
provide quality pastoral care and counseling on a short-term basis for
individuals or families in crisis.
•
provide emergency food and other
assistance to persons in need, offering this help in Christ’s name to those who
are part of the congregation and to those who will never be.
•
are a medium-sized congregation, offering the programs that a smaller church cannot
and the hospitality that is difficult in a larger
church.

. .
. . . Or if you are wondering if
you can feel at home in
any
church . . .
then think about Lincolnshire.
You’ll find that our staff, members, and
friends:
+
Understand the suffering life can bring and help you find the spiritual
resources to grow in hard times.
+
Accept people as they are and celebrate the unique gifts
of all– young and old; male and female; single, divorced, or married.
+ Have special
concern for the needs of children and youth and offer quality programs to meet
their needs.
+ Welcome visitors and are ready to involve
them in the life of the church, but do not put people on the spot.
+
Stand firm in support of the rights of all people and work to meet needs in the community.

The Church of the Brethren has a proud tradition of concern about world peace, the rights of all people, and the need for balanced lifestyles.
The Church of the Brethren embraces no set of doctrines except the New Testament, and encourages its members to develop their own faith–with an awareness of what Scripture and the traditions of the church have to teach us. As a result, a wide diversity exists and is fostered within our denomination. We work cooperatively with other denominations whenever possible.
The Church of the Brethren is convinced that faithfulness to
Christ and the Gospel is more important than the approval of society. You’ll
find that people in the denomination speak plainly and openly about their
beliefs and that they are accepting and loving toward those who disagree with
them.
